Government contracts
Federal prime-contract obligations linked to public companies.
Contracts →Scope
We cover U.S. federal prime contracts reported to USAspending.gov since October 2014 (fiscal 2015). Grants, loans, subawards and contract vehicles are excluded.
What the numbers mean
An obligation is money the government commits. Gross is the sum of positive actions. Deobligations are negative actions. Net is the two combined. Obligations are not payments or contract ceilings.
A $10.0M award followed by a -$1.5M modification shows gross $10.0M, deobligations -$1.5M and net $8.5M.
Company links
We link actions through exact identifiers. Automatic links use an exact, unique SEC company identity with registration and conflict checks. Reviewed links carry recorded evidence. A recipient link takes precedence over a parent link. Reviewed links take precedence over automatic links. Blocked intervals remove links for their dates.
Companies listed today
Automatic links cover companies listed today. Acquired or delisted contractors can be missing from older years. Reviewed links may remain without a current ticker. Parent names describe today's parents, not historical ownership. Figures are per issuer. All share classes show the same numbers. No linked actions does not mean no federal contracts.
Link coverage
Coverage is the share of absolute obligation dollars linked each month. Deobligations count by size. This is not a share of payments. Months without transactions have no row. Unlinked recipients are outside company totals.
Timeliness and refresh
We refresh daily. Months inside the 120-day re-check window are provisional. Defense agencies report about 90 days late. An outlined month is only partly inside the selected date window. Refresh time and the latest action month measure different things.
Source and licence
Every action links to its official USAspending.gov record. Source data is published by the U.S. government. Company attribution is KO methodology. See the source terms for reuse details.
